Express Entry – New Draw

Date

Canada has held its recent Express Entry draw for immigration to Canada on December 9th & 5,000 candidates are issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The score cut-off threshold for this draw was 469 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The tie-breaking rule was applied to profiles with 469 points submitted after June 4, 2020 at 22:26:05 UTC.

This is the third consecutive draw to issue a record-high 5,000 invitations. The CRS score cut-off has held steady at 469 points, despite the high number of ITAs. This indicates a huge influx of competitive candidates entering the pool between the previous draw on November 25th and this one.

In this all-program draw, candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Trades (FST) programs, including Provincial Nominees, were considered.

With this Express Entry Draw, 15,000 invitations were issued in less than one month shattering all previous records for Express Entry draws. The increase in ITAs is in tune with the government’s immigration targets for 2021, which aim to welcome more than 400,000 new permanent residents.

The succeeding Express Entry draw may probably take place within two weeks on December 23rd. That falls very close to Canada’s federal holidays for the winter holiday season & it may so happen that no draw takes place on that date, or even one week later on December 30th, just one day before New Year’s Eve.

The CRS score cut-off is determined by the frequency of draws. M & G Education & Immigration Consultants are top-rated Immigration consultants for guidance in immigration to Canada.
